#1 Postby Guest » Thu Jan 15, 2004 2:39 pm

Anyone ever use the internet to book hotel rooms? Have a good site your use - can you post it here.

I am planning our summer vacation to Colorado and want to go ahead and book the rooms - riding the train in Durango ....

The few times I've ever booked online, I did at the specific hotel's website. Then I print out my confirmation sheet and take it with me in case there's a problem...which there's never been so far.

I haven't used them but I've heard that http://www.priceline.com is good. Maybe others have used them before and can give some input.

I've used Hotwire.com and have gotten great results. We got a wonderful hotel this last summer (4 star) for $41.00 per night.

Also, depends on which Hotel chain you are planning on using, Holiday Inn has weekly specials called Holideals, that usually are pretty good deals. Most of the time though, the deals are for the upcoming weekend, so you have to book late.

I've used on-line for airline tickets and car rentals but not for hotels yet. I usually call the 1-800- for different chains and book that way.
