Well the legislation that was to stop the internet tax was not renew by the Federal Govt - so this is a signal to the lower levels of government that this will be a reality sooner than you think. Talk has been that the it will be effective within 48 months. Unless the federal govt sets up and imposes the ban..once again.

The great part about the internet THESE days is that it is still a frontier. Like the wild west, it has its share of good guys, bad guys, and places you shouldn't go. On the other hand, the freedom to share information so readily and quickly among the masses far outweighs the risks of the dark side.
I'm opposed to a tax...but if it must be, then perhaps a surcharge on purchases made online would be a way to start.
