First, possessed...now a serial killer? Sheesh!

I would have never guessed. I'm still trying to understand why in the world Roman (who still doesn't look like Roman to me cuz he's Chris from the old Days days) is with Kate. No wonder poor Sami is so messed up in the head!

Thanks for alerting me, Garrett! I'll have to set my VCR at lunch!

OMG - I am just livid!!!! So glad I quit watching that show now.....I want to know who the he** the writers are? This is so far from her character, it's just not Marlena. Glad I closed the door on this show! Sad though.

Mary

PS - I clicked on it, hoping it would be Stefano. Wow, this a big shock! Ironically I began watching Days when the first Salem Stalker story emerged and Marlena's twin was killed. Hey, maybe all this time we've been dealing with the evil twin and Marlena was killed back then? If my husband read all this he would applaud my decision to go cold-turkey with my soap watching. When Marlena was possessed by the devil, that's when I said see-ya to this show (and to a few others). RIP the Days of old, the show that WAS superb.

I wonder how many members here think we're looney for even discussing a fictional serial killer?!!! LOL I see you haven't had many bites Tom. :-)

In my former life, in other words a soap nut, I could have discussed soaps 24/7. Now I don't even have the Soapnet channel.....:-( I would be into Dallas reruns if I did.

LOL! Aren't reruns great, Miss Mary? I really wish you could enjoy SoapNet for your Dallas fix. Call your cable provider! Tell them you want SoapNet now! :)

All those years of loving "L.A. Law" and I was never able to record all of it back then. Now, A&E brought it back to life and I'm getting every episode thanks to my Dish DVR. Now if only someone would bring back "The Facts Of Life."

I got addicted to Northern Exposure when I was out of work for three months several years ago.

I remember Days of Our Lives from staying with my grandmother when I was very one. Then my mom watched it - I followed it thru college and if I have a day off here or there - I can tune in and pretty catchup on the storylines in one or two episodes LOL.....

How many of you used to plan college classes around your soap opera's?

I've tuned in to soaps off and on for years. But the only time I was really into one was back when Meg Ryan was on "As The World Turns." I used to take a small TV with me to work. :) Never planned classes around anything, but I did have an employer who made sure not to schedule me past 7:00 pm on Saturdays so I could be home and settled in by 8:00 to watch FOL. :)

Patricia - not me, I was working during my soap heyday craze. But we had a TV in the doctor's office, in the waiting room. Let's just say if a patient touched that channel, as soon as they were called back, we'd change that channel back ASAP. I remember watching Luke & Laura's wedding and the "Summer of Love" then. A dearly departed co-worker got me into Days. She said it was the best of all of them. So I tuned in. And loved it! I got my first VCR in 85 and from then I taped all my daytime shows and nighttime ones too. I rarely missed any. Example? I missed 6 episodes of Dallas from beginning to end. Yes, that's the truth! I clearly remember one Friday night, hitting our favorite watering hole for happy hour after work. This was between my marriages.....anywho, it's about 7 or so and it dawned on me I didn't turn off the VCR! For about 5 or so minutes my friends wondered what I would do - desert them, running home by 9 p.m. or stay out.....I ended up staying out. I've worn out 4 VCR's! Hubby just shakes his head at me. Now I watch just prime time shows but I was really into all that soap stuff. Cried when Roman Brady died on the beach, sobbed when Val Ewing's twins were taken away and she was told they died at birth, cried the hardest when Bobby Ewing died......I must have had a stockpile of tissues back then. LOL It's ironic that both Roman and Bobby didn't die and Val's twins were returned to her. That didn't stop my tears though.

I got hooked on Days when I was a kid and would spend most of my summer days at my cousin's house. She watched it everyday. My cousin, her brothers and sisters and I had made a swimhole in a small branch near their house. We'd spend most of the mornings swimming, but somehow knew when it was time to go home to watch Days. As soon as the soap was off, we'd go back to the swimhole and spend the rest of the day lol. I remember when a serial killer killed Marlena's twin. Suppose the killer now is her twin come back from life? You know those characters on there have 9 lives LOL. Anybody remember when Julie burned her face terribly bad and that resulted in her leaving Doug? Oh the story lines they have had on there!! Any I, too, know that the Roman on there now is non other than Kris Kosecheck (sp). lol
My wife and I used to tape Days everyday until right after the time Marlena was possessed. We got out of the dark ages and got Primestar. (now Directtv) Then we stopped watching Days. Now, my daughter is hooked on it. She tapes it everyday and watches it when she gets home from school. I have only caught glances of Days over the last few months when my daughter would be home and would watch it. I really care nothing about it anymore.

I actually started watching Days when Marlena was possessed, an intriguing storyline for a sixth grader!

BUT OMG!!!!! NEVER in like a BAZILLION years did I think the killer was Marlena!!!! But there was a guy at work (yeah, we talk Days too, not just sports!) who said he thought it was Marlena, man he is so gonna rub it in!!! LMAO!

Ya know what guys.....I just don't think it's Marlena. Not the Marlena fans have grown to love over all these years! Come on, we're talking about Marlena!!! I say it's her evil twin....what was her name anyway.....I want to say Samantha. But that's not right is it?

Funny that Tim and I, and I'm sure a slew of other fans quit watching when Marlena became possessed and you Jacki, started at that point! My very first soap was Dark Shadows....I'd love to say I was in diapers then, but no I was about 11 then. I'm really old.....LOL Anyway, when that happened with Marlena I thought Days was venturing into Dark Shadows format and I just didn't like it one bit. What drew me to Days, the two main families, Jack/Jen, Bo/Hope, Roman/Marlena, Kim/Shane, Patch/Kayla, Liz and somebody, Tony (my all time hunk, he was pretty good looking way back when!),was no more. Like you Tim, I just don't care to watch it anymore. Awhile back someone told me Jack and Jen were an item again, so I watched a few times. Then just when they're about to admit their true feelings, they cut to a commerical. Daytime shows move so incredibly slow! No thanks. But to those of you watching Days right now, please keep us informed. I'd like to know who the killer really is.

Tom!!!! This is driving me nuts. Okay I reread the article. It states that Marlena gives Tony a lethal injection soon. BTW, he was my favorite on that show. RIP Tony...... Back to the link, it says the shocking part is not that Marlena gives him the shot, but something else. So that leads me to suspect Marlena isn't really Marlena. Right?

I sure hope all this discussion doesn't pull me back into this show! If it does, I'm gonna need a Days crash course......when I quit the twins were kids. And I mean little kids!!!

I'm willing to be the Marlena/twin thing is a good possibility.

Mary...did you mean Liz and Chris? I think that was back when Gloria Loring had that hit song...whatever it was...of hers. Her one-hit wonder. :)

To the best of my recollection, the last time the twins were kids, Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler on Full House) played Carrie and Ashleigh Sterling (who was Blair's adorable little sister Bailey on Facts Of Life) played Sami. Then, in soap opera fashion, they aged them both and Christie Clark was Carrie and Alison Swooney...er, Sweeney...was Sami. Not sure what's become of Carrie. But I vaguely remember Carrie's twin brother (because I know Sami and Carrie aren't the twins) and I don't know who played him.

Alison Sweeney has been a great Sami, IMO.

Shawn - I rememered later, it was Liz and Neal. And I do vaguely recall she was paired up with Chris too. BTW whoever thought of hiring that actor to play Roman was crazy! That's Chris!!! Silly writers......aging characters has always been practiced on soaps. You blink and that baby is now starting Kindergarten! What I find comical are how the adults never seem to age (Diedre Hall/actress who plays Kate) while their kids become adults pretty quickly. After a while you wonder if they were supposed to have those kids when they were 15! What's even funnier is when those parent's, with grown kids in their 20s, suddenly want one more baby. Here you have a mom who should be in her late 40s, having another baby! Cronicalogically it just doesn't add up. Ah, but that's how soaps go.....LOL

I liked Allison Sweeney as Sami too. But I hated it when she had it in for Carrie. You just wanted to slap Sami silly back then. Did Sami ever become nicer?

I love love love Sami! And I didn't care for Carrie- she was too "good"- LOL!! And no, Sami is still crazy Sami, and I wouldn't have it any other way!!

For the record, on the show Marlena's twin was Samantha, and she was killed by the Salem Strangler, but there is a rumor flying that the killer could be Hattie.... Deidre's sis came back to play that wacko character for a bit, don't know if you ever saw her Mary...

Part of me says NO WAY IT'S NOT MARLENA... but part of me thinks maybe just maybe it could be, she's been one strange woman lately!! Guess we'll have to wait and see!!

Jacki - I did hear there was another sister, which confused me no end. So they were triplet's, not twins (Marlena/Samantha)? I'll take your word that Marlena has been acting strangely lately. Let's just say the Marlena I remember so well wouldn't have been the murderer. I still say NO WAY!

I kinda figured it was Marlena, considering that she was possessed.

Sami was the one with the twin named Eric. They were siblings of Roman and Marlena. Carrie was the sibling of Roman and a DiMera.
