Open Auditions

QVC held open auditions yesterday for show hosts at our call center. Show host Dave King, who most recently played the role of Mike Gorden on the ABC soap opera, All My Children and Billy Cooper, chief of detectives on the NBC soap opera, Another World, was there to greet the prospective applicants and visit with the rest of us. Joan Rivers also flew into Palm Beach Intl Airport and came up to St Lucie county via a white limo to lend a hand with the screenings.

Although I didn't get to talk to her, she used her free minutes to walk around the call center and chat with us in the order entry department. She also plugged into some of the calls that the operators were taking and at the end of the call, the operator asked the caller if they would like the opportunity to speak with a special guest who was visiting with us. Unfortunately, no one wanted to talk to her.

Joan is a tiny little thing - she stands maybe a little over 5 feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds. She allowed us to photograph her with the stipulation that it was from the waist up. I won't mention how un-natural her face looks from multiple plastic surgeries (!)
