Valentine's Day.......what are you going to do????

#1 Postby Guest » Tue Feb 10, 2004 8:26 am

What are your plans? Do you get gifts or cards for your significant other?

Anyone ever write their own valentine's? Just curious?

If my elbows better, I was thinking of taking the wife bowling.

With a little luck, I'll actually have plans for Valentine's Day hopefully with Becky.

Let's see. On a normal Saturday, my wife and I go grocery shopping and then get together with friends of our's. Other than exchanging cards, it will probably be a typical Saturday for us. Aren't we romantic?

I'm sleeping. With any luck I'll actually talk to a girl online that day.

We would have gone out to dinner, and each of us would then have picked up what we wanted for a "present"...as we usually do.

Debi's Rx expenditure cut THAT short, fast. Now, it's a "double bummer" for Debi...her birthday also falls on the 14th.

Not sure yet. Depending on whether my friend Emily works or not, I may go out with her. However, I have a rule, I ain't going out alone or with the family; it kind of gets boring quick.

Hmmm...Valentine's Day huh?!? I had to get flowers ordered a month ago for the "Little Shop of Flowers" we operate at school. Along with lots of other flower varieties, my wholesaler brought in 1,500 roses.....each has to be de-thorned, wired, and stem cut before putting in water to process!! We (the kids and I) started "greening up" arrangements yesterday.......made up several dozen bud vases, rose bowls, and dozen rose arrangements. Tomorrow we start baskets of carnations and pomps.

Valentine's Day has traditionally been T-H-E biggest day in the Floral Industry.....this just happens to be my 42nd Valentine's Day in this business!! ( I must have been an infant when I started, right?!?) When I was in "the industry" full time, a typical holiday week was easily 80 hours......and we NEVER get to sit down!! The kids seem to thrive on being busy....and boy, are they thrivin' now!! Our customers are several businesses, school staff and students, and people off the street. One thing about V.Day......it ALWAYS seems to SNOW!

So what will I be doin' on V.Day.........sittin' down with my feet up!!.....p

Nothing :D

No, really. I'll make a nice meal for the two of us and we'll spend the day together.

My wife will be working until 7 pm unless her schedule changes. I'll have her supper ready for her when she gets home. (Ya'll would be proud of me...I'm gettin' pretty good at cooking LOL So far, at least one meal a day since mid-Oct and no deaths yet!!! :) )
I'm planning to get her something, just haven't decided whether to get flowers and have them sent to work, or to get something different.

We'll be at the Centaur Mardi Gras parade, catching beads and cups...celebrating Brian's moms 76th birthday and a little something romantic later....

Florida is nice for a Valentine's gift!

I'm hoping we take a morning hike up a trail we enjoy...come back, clean up, and probably go get a bite to eat.

She has her eyes on some new shoes, so maybe we'll stop by and get them, too.

Lyle, David and others who are girlfriendless...I KNOW the feeling, Bros. :(

Now and then I still think back to my high school days and remember gals like Nancy whom I sat next to in jr high homeroom/American history class...one time I happened to be with her in the high school art class room and the light was off...silly me was TOO shy...(looking back) I would have loved to have grabbed her hand and then in a corner of that room...plant one on her voluptious lips! :D There was also this sexy cheerleader named DeeDee, too! :D I saw her one time at a non-alcohol senior class party sitting down at the foot of a staircase in the hostess' house and...MAN...would have given anything to lead her off somewhere for some making out! :D

Then this gal named Carol...I've known her and her parents since the late 1960s...she's really cute, too, (I imagine she still is!) :D ...anyway she's involved in the music ministry in a former church I was a member of in Ohio...and I still remember when we went on church youth group choir trips...(of course she'd be sitting beside ANOTHER guy on the bus)
...I'd think,Phooey if I wasn't so doggone SHY! :( I now attribute that shyness to my Asperger Syndrome...

Thanks for letting me reminisce and vent gals and guys! :-?
