MAJOR BLUNDER from white house. release natl guard documents

#1 Postby rainstorm » Tue Feb 10, 2004 11:09 am

huge mistake. this will only fuel the fire. bush needs to go on the offensive!! one example of the media bias. on the today show today i heard it put this way. "bush today responded to the damning charge of going awol" notice the word "damning"?

i said something a month ago that will be very important. there is now a law in place saying only the major media outlets can criticise a candidate 60 days beofre an election. if you think kerry is getting help from the media now, wait till after labor day when the media will have absolulte political power. do you think bush will get a fair deal? i dont.

I heard this too. Not at all surprised by it though. What really fries me is they don't even know what they are talking about yet..they don't have enough facts to even begin to analyze what happened.

I look at it this way. Its not like he was over in Russia or anything protesting the War now was he? Also....being AWOL from National Guard, was a way of life in the 60's. At least he was here, and not over on some Communist turf.

the really sad thing is this story has been around since 94, and it is just being recycled to hurt bush. rememebr the dui story 5 days before the 2000 election? what does the media have up its sleeve this time?

There's a tendency to always bring things up from the past.

you got me on that one. but i am embarrassed at the lack of vigor or intelligence in the white house. someone should have told them that releasing those documents would only feed the media attack. bush needs to go on the attack and go over the heads of the media. right now ha and his administration look like a dear caught in a car headlight.

p.s-mr bush, clinton may have done some bad things, but he always defended himself vigorously. please show a little passion. not only are you headed for defeat, but your party is heading for a bloodbath.

What is wrong by President Bush proving them wrong? If he didn't release the records then he would get crucified for that just like Hillary did. Rainstorm, I've never seen one person with a bigger "chicken little" attitude in my life :-) The people in the White House didn't get there by making consistent bad decisions.....

Oops, I apologize for not adding a  to that post. I did mean it in a humorous not smart-aleck tone, but I think you got it. :)

no problem, i got it. hehe

and MF, the problem with them releasing documents is simple. look at the media today? did it help? NO!!! the media is doing this for kerry, and they wont stop. the release of the documents has caused a full-fledged feeding frenzy.
this is my point: by releasing those documents in an attempt to defend a baseless charge in the first place, they showed weakness. when the media sees weakness, they will swoop in for the kill. did you see the white house press briefing today? the press held those documents in contempt, and were more vicious than ever.
this election is done, remember bush signed a bill saying the media has total power over political speech within 60 days of an election. he did it to himself. if you think the media is attacking now, wait till after labor day. it will be a total disaster.

I just want you around Helen after the election so you can eat crow. Calling the "election done" is so far off-base that it doesn't even desrve a response.... maybe you should try valium!

I agree Marshall.

Now Helen...I know you listen to Rush...just relax like he tells you too (not with Oxycotin though:). Rush says the only reason the Dems are sitting pretty right now is that is all that's in the news..they have the spotlight, and it won't last forever.

The other day he told the story of Bill Belichek's(Patriots coach) pre game speech in 2002 where he showed his players a tape of a horse race. He stopped it 1/4 into it and asked, "Ok, who here can tell me which horse will win this race"?

No answers.

He rolled the tape, and stop it again at the halfway point. Again ..same question, again nobody could say.

3/4 - same thing.

The classic lesson he showed them was the game is not over till its over. That is ALL he did to prepare his team.

You should follow his lead.
