Special Prayers needed

#1 Postby azsnowman » Tue Feb 10, 2004 10:03 pm

I know we have the MPW thread but this is something that needs some very special prayer. As you've noticed, I've not been around much as of late, the reason? Michelles mother......they took her out of the hospital, placed her in Hospic and it's only a matter of time. I talked to Michelle about 2 hours ago, her mother is unresponsive, on a Morphine drip. This has been a very rough 3 weeks to say the least, it's been without a doubt, some of the most stressful times I've ever been through, there's a LOT more to the story than I care to share at the moment but like I said, the main concern as of this moment is Michelles mother. She's been near death 2 times in the past 5 days, each time, she's come back, her last lucide moment was day before yesterday and like the old sayin' goes..."A flower blooms before it dies."

Just pray that the Lord takes her home and that she doesn't have to suffer, this may sound terrible but trust me, it's not....even if she came back this time, her blood pressure has been so low the past 2 days (74/44) that there will be irreversable brain damage.

I will try to keep everyone posted on this matter. I would also like to extend a very large Thank you to ALL of you that have stood by me these past few weeks, some of you know the whole story and sometime when I'm ready, I'll let most of you know exactly what's been going on. Ya know, you NEVER know just how "MANY" good friends you have until a crisis arises like this, it blows my mind!

I won't be online that much, just sitting by the phone waiting for the phone call that she's been called home. Thank you once again each and everyone of you and Marshall......"THANKS  !"

Dennis.....please know prayers are on their way for each one of you. It's difficult to watch a loved on suffer, but it doesn't make loosing them any easier. May all who meander thru these pages offer the strength you and Michelle are needing at this time, my friend........Pam

Marshall, a golf date with a mountain man? Should be quite an adventure!

Dennis and Michelle...my prayers do not have far to travel...but a few hours up the road.

The stars have extra sparkle. On my walk tonight after dusk, I noticed how they twinkled as though to boast of their beauty. I can only imagine how brilliant the starshine is up your way. Never forget what they looked like when I checked them out north of Sedona one spring night.

They seem ready to take on a new luster...another addition...and Michelle's mom will then be at peace.

Dennis, you, your wife, and her mom are in my prayers!
I dont' think you were being cruel when you said you wanted the Lord to take her and end her suffering. I felt the same way when my dad was suffering so terribly with bone cancer. Although it was hard to let him go, I found it comforting to know he was in a much better place and was not suffering any longer.

Thank you for all the prayers, no news last night, nothing this morning yet.....

One thing this has taught Michelle and I, no matter how young you are, we ALL need to take care of our final arragements EARLY! Michelles mother, due to the lack of oxygen to the brain for the past 2 years, she's been in heart faliure that long, was declared incompatent just this past 2 weeks. Well, she didn't have measures put into place in case of a stroke, cardiac arrest etc. The LEGAL BS that Michelle and her dad have had to go thru  Michelle and I last week had our DNR'S, Living Trusts and other legal matters done, you never know! This all goes back to my thread (in which I cannot find) about "Have we gone too far?" When do you stop treating a patient who is terminal and just administer Comfort Care Only? How long do you keep someone alive? Do we do this for selfish reasons, has modern medicine gone too far?

I am so sorry to hear about Michelle's mother. I understand completely where you are coming from when you say that you hope that the good Lord will take her home soon. You don't want her to suffer anymore.

Prayers are being Federal Expressed from New Jersey to Arizona as we speak! Take care of yourself and keep us updated!

No, it's the legal system that's gone too far. The medical industry has been sued so much, they can't even administer care appropriately. They must survive financially, or we all lose.

So sorry about having to face the illness and loss of your mother-in-law and also for all the distracting legal issues. Your friends at Storm2K are united in prayer and support for you, Michelle, her dad, and for her mom. May God cover you all with His compassion and peace.
