More details now. Not exactly a "school shooting" in the usual sense of the word, but still just as horrific.

PHILADELPHIA -- Police say a child in a school playground shot in the face and critically wounded this morning by a gunman who opened fire in a North Philadelphia schoolyard. A school crossing guard also was hit -- wounded in the foot by the gunfire.
The shooting happened just after 8:30 a.m. in the area of 23rd and Cambria streets.
Police say two men were shooting each other.
The child has been taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. No word yet on the crossing guard's condition.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
Police at the scene say they are looking for a silver Jeep seen fleeing the area after the shootout.
