BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - A judge threw out an arrest warrant for rocker Courtney Love on Tuesday after she appeared for a court hearing.
Superior Court Judge Elden Fox issued the warrant last week after Love failed to appear for a hearing involving felony charges of illegal possession of two painkillers. Her attorney William Genego said Love couldn't make it then because of unspecified "security" reasons.
Superior Court Judge Lisa Hart Cole dismissed the warrant Tuesday and ordered Love back to court on March 16 for a preliminary hearing.
The sometimes outspoken Love, 39, was reserved in court and only said, "Yes, ma'am," when the judge asked if she would agree to the date.
Also Tuesday, Genego withdrew from the case and was replaced by attorney Ross Nabatoff.
The singer-actress has pleaded innocent to illegal possession of hydrocodone and oxycodone. Authorities said they discovered the painkillers when Love was taken to a hospital on Oct. 2 after being found outside an ex-boyfriend's house where she allegedly smashed windows.
She was charged separately with a misdemeanor count of being under the influence of a drug.
Love, former lead singer of the group Hole and widow of grunge rocker Kurt Cobain, has a new album, "America's Sweetheart," out this month. She has appeared in such movies as "The People vs. Larry Flynt" and "Man on the Moon."
