Got it...

#6 Postby CZonian » Sun Mar 16, 2003 8:47 am

I thought that I had turned on the graphic deal with the world and all but didn't see it in my "test post". I believe I must have not completed it correctly cause the 2nd attempt work as I had thought. Now I see that it also applies to all the other post.

thanks

Always willing to learn...

#9 Postby CZonian » Sun Mar 16, 2003 8:57 am

Rob,

Do you pay $25 for a nation calling plan (long distance) then additional for local?

Or are you saying the entire monthly bill from Atnt covers your local and long distance service and that you have one bill for $25 a month and no other bills for phone service (local or long distance)

Let me know.

thanks

I have a national discount plan since I once worked for them and it throws me onto their best plan at the lowest prices. Normally I'd have 500 mins plus an additional 15% on top of that for the $29/mo and a 15% discount applied. I worked my way into the system and got the $19.95 plan, but everything across the board is unlimited....local and nationwide. Problem is, I live in a hilly area and AT&T have more towers than most, expecially in my region, but I dont get good range until I drive about 2 miles and then its spotty from there. NEXTEL works up here on the golf course behind my house, but again, they have spotty tower placements and dead zones like the others.

Snowman hi-tech vs oillamps

#11 Postby CZonian » Sun Mar 16, 2003 9:12 am

Snowman - sounds to me like you are mix bag of hi-tech "live and breath cell phone" mix with dial-up service. I was on dial up until earthlink offered a RR deal for 3 months at 19.95 to entice me.

Now I am an earthlink RR user. I cannot see going back now.

With regard to your wireless use:

However whether you use your land line or not you still pay a monthly bill to Mr. Verizon (or whoever) for dial-up service and you probably use minutes with your free long distance wireless when you do call local or long distance.

Why not pay for local service and get free unlimited long distance when you need it. In doing that you might be able to reduce your wireless minutes (saving $$) yet not take anything away from your personal needs.

Just a thought, but I want to make sure everyone knows what is being offered.

Cell vs land line

#12 Postby CZonian » Sun Mar 16, 2003 9:16 am

Sorry Rob I am referring mainly to Land Lines. Not cell usage.

Sounds to me like you have a great deal for cell usage.

One additional comment...

#13 Postby CZonian » Sun Mar 16, 2003 9:39 am

Vartec Telecom has been around for about 12 years and originally concentrated on the long distance market. They Acquired Excel Communications. That gave them the complete business and residential phone service capability. They are now in all the Bell and Verizon markets and cover 90% of the U.S. Coverage is to be completed in all 50 states by this April.

VarTec/Excel, is the only company currently licensed to offer local telephone service in all 50 states. We are also operating in Germany and the United Kingdom. Switzerland, Austria, and Ireland will be added by the end of May.

The local telephone monopolies were broken up with Telecommunications Act of 1996. The practical effects of the act are only now coming to market because of the infrastructure requirements needed to compete. The local telephone operating companies are just now feeling the pain of losing customers to more aggressive service providers. That is why you are now seeing the MCI and Verizon commercials on TV.

Excel's advertisment is me an army of one to steal a phrase 8)

The calling plans below are still available (remember this is land lines not cell phones)

However, if you want to earn some residual cash and have an entrepreneurial spirit check out the link below. Be skeptical, but give it 5min at least.
