This year's Brooks & Dunn tour

#1 Postby j » Mon Mar 08, 2004 8:31 am

Came home friday night and my stepdaughter comes into the livingroom and hands me a CD. It was B&D's Red Dirt Road. I said, "What's this for"? She says, "I was in Best Buy, saw it, and thought you might like it". I trold her thank you, then she asked me if I would mind burning her a copy? No problem. I open up the CD and out falls 2 tickets to Saturday's concert at Clemson Univ...on the floor....10 rows back!

I asked her why did she do this? Her answer..."Kris (her b/f in Iraq) just wanted to thankyou for all you've done for us this past year while he has been there.

Anyway :) ....to the concert. This was my 4th Brooks and Dunn show, but by far the best including the show with Reba. If your thinking of seeing B&D, or never have, this is the year to see them. They are energized, even Ronnie Dunn. THe end of the concert was fantastic...I don't want to give it away...but you will be seeing nothing but red white and blue!

This from Ronnie Dunn:

"That's the thing about America," says Ronnie Dunn, "we're so much a culture of getting in the car and just rolling. The whole world can just pass by your windshield -- and you feel so free. This tour is dedicated to that idea -- the idea that you can just roll down the windows, feel the road beneath your wheels and find freedom on your radio."

I think I know what the end is... ;) Toby Keith did essentially the same thing at his concert. I would love to see Brooks and Dunn in concert, but it is going to be hard to beat Alan Jackson, Jamie O'Neal, and Rhonda Vincent.

What a nice surprise for you j. I am sure you deserved it as well. :D

What a very kewl thing j.....I'm JEALOUS! "LOL!" Living in the *sticks*......it's kinda hard getting to a concert, HOWEVER, the casino does a GREAT job of bringing some big names up here. Last summer the casino had Merle Haggard, Oak Ridge Boys and Micheal Martin Murphy....love his one song "Cowboy Logic!"

What a sweet gift to you...all that parenting is paying off, huh? lol

I saw Band D at a very small venue, a casino show here, and was the guest of a high roller, therefore had front and center seats...wow! What an incredible show...and I didn't even really care for country music at the time. The longer haired guy took my friends cell phone (he was talking to his wife) and took the phone on stage, and talked to her and then left the phone on so she could hear the whole show...(she was home with a baby). I thought that was really cool....and it was hilarious!

I also saw John Anderson recently when our Bass Pro Shop opened up...he waited til the last song to play my song...Seminole Wind...and it ended with a huge firework display...pretty awesome!

Glad you enjoyed the show...I think that shows a lot of growth on the kids part...and that's pretty cool in itself!

Kix Brooks did the same thing at this show with some guys cell phone. He told the girl that he was here with some "Hooter's girls", and that he was too cheap to biuy her a ticket. Said he was going to find out how big a spender he was and run his minutes up. I didn't even see him give it back to the guy. hmmmmmm..makes you wonder??
