Stormraiser, look for at least 512MB of RAM in any system you plan on ordering. Anything less is barely sufficient for running Windows XP and will not hold up well in the future (we're already beginning to see some of the most taxing software run best with 1024MB).

I wonder if we can get a kick-back from Dell for all the free advertising? :-) Great news Suzi! Enjoy the new toy :-)

I have 256 and it's a rocket. At any rate it depends on what you use it for. I can upgrade to 512 later...even higher if I want. I love the flat panel display. Congrats Suzi :)

Depends on what kind of software and what you use it for. I just surf the net and email. I don't play games or edit photos etc. It would be a waste of money for me to go with 512. As I said..I can upgrade it later..but I doubt I will neeed to :)

I went with 1GB of memory but then again I tend to drive my PC a little harder than most ;-) My flat panel was absolutely the best money I've spent in a long time! Now if I can only convince the wife to let me get a second one so I can span the desktop for hurricane season! (not holding my breath)

Thanks all, I am REALLY looking forward to the new baby. I've had this same clunky monitor for 8 years so will be in shock to see the cute flat panel. Went with 512 of ram, upgraded free to a 120 hard drive, 128 graphics card for SOMEONE to play their silly games with. Just received confirmation that ship date is now 3/31 ( ) but I'll hope it's like ya'll have said and much sooner. In the meantime, I'll just drool over the specs. Hubby is SO happy, when he got home this morning I told him "Dude, you're getting a Dell! " Thought he was gonna faint since he's been after me to do this since um, BEFORE CHRISTMAS????? Plus with him becoming an indy contractor, can we say TAX WRITEOFF???????

Oh and yeah, I got the free shipping and the rebate.
