"Chicky-noo-noo" soup and "girl-cheese" sandwiches here...Debi and I are sick, and we couldn't "do" the traditional fare this year.

Well, I was a good wife and carried out authentic corned beef and cabbage last night. So hubby was happy. There's an upscale deli that offers a different hot dish each night. With sides too, all home cooked. Very-very good food. Expensive though so we don't shop there usually. As I was zipping along after dropped oldest daughter at an ACT prep class last night, I spotted this deli. Did a U turn and that was our dinner. LOL If not for that, we were going to eat frozen dinners......I need an Alice (Brady Bunch) in this house - we run 4 or 5 nights a week now. Which makes dinner a challenge. That's why I wanted main dish ideas that you don't cook in a crock pot (I've made all of those and my family is very tired of them).

In a wordy way, the corned beef and cabbage was a big hit here last night!

I'm Irish, and believe it or not I HATE corned beef and cabbage. (Not to mention the ozone hole that would open up over our house afterwards... )

I just wear my green shirt, and eat normal, non-greenhouse-gas-producing food.

Nuttin out of the ordinary here. We had little choice since we haven't been to the grocery store in weeks lol. BBQ chicken thighs and mashed taters. (I'm such a good cook :) )
