Update on my job situation...

#1 Postby wx247 » Wed Apr 21, 2004 12:27 pm

Well, it was so simple.

Now... one of the long time Social Studies instructors is retiring. They don't know if they can afford to fill his position. It depends on if the school board's bond issue passes or not. There is an applicant who is a 1st yr. teacher this fall who can teach social studies and debate. If this happens I may not get the job.

The big deal is this... the bond issue isn't voted on UNTIL JUNE. *sigh* I don't think I can wait that long.

I wish you the VERY BEST, Garrett! :D Prayers and thoughts for the bond issue to pass and for the competition against that 1st yr. teacher. :)

If you get the job, PM me for links to "Whips 'R' Us", with a selection of chairs designed to be held as shields...you'll need them.

The biggest obstacle I ran into during my ten years in teaching were the school boards and the beaurocratic process. Admittedly, I was not well equipped to handle all that when I was in my 20's. I'd be much better at it today.

But, if you can find ways for the board and its infinite wisdom to be an ally in your teaching years...you will have accomplished a great deal.

Good luck in the meantime, Garrett.

Sorry to hear about the delay Garrett. Like Linda said, we're in your corner and always will be. God bless!
