Depression...

#1 Postby weatherlover427 » Thu Apr 22, 2004 11:24 pm

My birthday is coming up on Tuesday. This will be the most lackluster birthday I will have ever had in my 22 years of existence on this planet. Basically it's because I have only $22.95, cannot go anywhere, and my mom can't do anything for me either; other than cake and ice cream. Oh; and a few hours spent with a couple of friends Sunday night. Whoo hoo go me!

(yes I am not happy as you can tell)

Any ideas??

In two words:

Pretty Empty.

No furniture yet except for a couple of bookcases, my computer desk, and my bed. Excluding the boxes that I have yet to do away with of course. :P

Thanks KOW and Furry for the advice. :)

I spend most of my days surfing the net. It is the best thing for me.

Josh, when I was 22 I was about to be drafted. I had just witnessed a tornado the year before which killed 24 people and injured many many more. I doubt I had $22.95 in my pocket either because I had a car payment and a full time teaching job that payed only $123 a week.

But I did have my family and friends to appreciate.

After your 21st birthday, the 22nd is a downer for most people. They can't wait to be legal...and then when they are, it is overrated.

At least you know that some Storm2k'ers will sing happy birthday to you from all over the country.

You don't have to look to far to see many in more pain.

Here's a hint. For YOUR birthday, do something unexpected and nice for someone else. A surprise phone call. A visit. Or write an encouraging email to someone that counts in your life.

You'll be surprised just how special your birthday will turn out.

Hey Josh, Happy birthday! Wait till you're 45. You won't look forward to them as much. Enjoy your health and your new-found wealth.

LOL dude

Anyway...

I am taking four days off from board work and most board participation, starting today (Saturday) and continuing through Tuesday the 27th (my birthday). This is due to the following reasons:

1) I will be away most of Sunday due to birthday celebrations; and possibly again on Tuesday as well.

2) I have some projecs to work on on my computer and on my site; that have been put off for eons due to my extensive work on the sites as of late. So I'd like to take the time to do them now.

3) The fact that I'd like a break from the boards since I've had so much go on lately.

4) I have some other at-home and around-the-apartment stuff that needs to get done.

I will see you all on Wednesday! :D
