HALTOM CITY, Texas (The Dallas Morning News/WFAA-TV) — Haltom City police issued an Amber Alert early Friday for a missing 12-year-old girl.
Talmira Rios was last seen Thursday morning on her way to Haltom Middle School in the company of Jorge Baez Gomez, 19. They were in his black Ford Expedition.
Police said the girl willingly left school with Gomez against her mother's wishes. "We have a 19-year-old who is an adult and a 12-year-old who is a child," said Haltom City police Sgt. Kyle Barton. "We don't know what his intentions are at this time; we don't know the extent of foul play that's involved in this."
Police said Talmira is a victim of unlawful restraint of a minor.
Gomez called Talmira's mother around midnight, saying the two were in Mexico. Police said authorities along the border have been notified.
Talmira is 5-foot-4l, weighs 110 pounds, and was last seen wearing a navy sweater and blue jeans. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
Gomez was described as 5-foot-7, 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about the girl should call the police department at (817) 222-7071.
