I didn't see the performances either. I'm wondering if some people got alittle turned off by LaToya during the competition saying how the four were all winners and that they would be getting record contracts anyway (don't be so presumptuous honey). Secondly, Look at the personalities of the two girls that were safe versus the two that were in the bottom two. Yes, you can call it a popularity contest, but if you don't like the person, do you really want to purchase their records? Fantasia is just too grating for me and I do think that LaToya is alittle boring as well. I don't see a "sparkle", but they both can sing. Simon has always said that American Idol is looking for a pop star - I don't think that they are "pop" material, but R&B, Soul, etc. Ruben isn't moving in the direction of pop music himself, though he was the winner. Even Randy Jackson said a few weeks back during the "Big Band" competition that it really suited LaToya. Hmmm.
At anyrate, I was very surprised that Jasmine was "safe". Even before this week's competition, I thought she was the weakest of the 4 remaining.
