Please Pray for my son!

#1 Postby Anonymous » Sun Jul 11, 2004 12:54 am

My son brought me to tears tonite--yeah he made a grown man cry--He has been court ordered to visit his mom for 3 weeks and is leaving today at around noon--and must return by Aug 5th. I was packing his clothes and he asked if he could stay for a few more days--then when I asked "dont you want to go visit your mom?" he said if you want me to. :( She has a long felony and misdameanor background dating to the 80s including felony child abuse and felony neglect! Has 5 kids and lost custody of all and recently regained custody of 2 kids and orderred visitation with my son who leaves today at around noon. I am hoping for his safe return and on time as it is obvious she has a history of NOT abiding by the law! Please pray for his safety and happiness while there. I am having a long nite of being TOTALLY upset

Thank all for your prayers! I just am hoping he has a good time but that she dont try to "Brainwash" him and spoil him into thinking he has a better life there based on 3 weeks-I am afraud of her requesting a new court date and treating him like majesty while he is there and having him thinking he has a better life there.... U know what I mean--Its like they proimise him disney world while we promise him he will be taken care of, loved, and always have clean clothes to wear to school....But a Kid would rather Go to disney world than be taken care of! So I dunno what to do! I feel like Im in competition for his approval at this point which He loves us and wants to stay but that could alll change with a few words from her!!! Im scared for him!

Jek, You got it! I'll definitely be praying for your little boy and for you while he's away. He knows where home is and he will be anxious to return no matter what she promises him. How on earth did she regain custody of 2 kids and get court-ordered visitation with your little boy anyway? Shouldn't she be in jail? :grrr:

This shouldn't be happening to little kids, no matter what. Sounds like she has some serious issues.

I guess I could share a semi-related story, it's somewhat similar but without the fighting part...

When I was about 6-7 years old, my parents split up. They didn't divorce at the time, they just legally separated and my mom moved out of the house. I stayed at home with my dad (GVod bless him, may he R.I.P. ).

That decision was made because he and my mom got together and decided that I was closer to my dad at the time, therefore it would cause less problems if I stayed with my dad instead of moving in with my mom.

The same thing happened when they officially divorced in 1996. I stayed with my dad because they saw that I was closer to him and they wanted to cause as little distress to me as possible.

Which, TBH; I was frankly quite thankful for as at the time our move to Florida (which already had me upset enough) was being discussed. :(

Got ya covered there Brother.

Ya know, I DON'T understand the system, I swear, the courts only THINK they know what's BEST for kids.....I mean, sending your son into a KNOWN, convicted child abusers home :grr: While I understand *some* of the reasoning behind this, it's never the less, a DANGEROUS situation, it's like when someone gets a court ordered Order of Protection, law enforcement agencies hands are tied UNTIL the person is threated face to face with the person that they have the filed the order of protection AGAINST :grr:

You've got my prayers as well. Considering your ex's past, have you filed to try and make it supervised visitation? I bet you could get that. Don't worry about "losing" your son. He knows the truth. I speak from personal experience. God bless you and your son.

Jek, ((Hugs)) for you. What a lonely and helpless place you must be in right now.

Kids know real love. I'm sure your son will not be fooled at all.

Prayers coming from the Burgh for your well being and his safe return to his loving home.

Thanks again for your thoughts/prayers. He just left :( :( and before she came and got him he asked when she was coming so he could hurry and visit and come back home and was saying maybe she wont come.

Dang she looked so old and rough! Last time I saw her was while she was in Jail in court--Guess thats what jailtime does to you

So sorry to hear of your situation, Jek. It's frustrating and unfair. Prayers flowing for you and your son. Like Bronnie said, he is in the hands of the Almighty. There is no safer place! I also prayed for his mother that she will make wise choices and do what's best for your son and her other children.
