General Tommy Franks has been given the go-ahead to proceed with the major offensive on Baghdad as soon as he feels the time is right.

Is that confirmed? They have been hinting that it was a female and one of the reporters stated male and female, though Centcom said only one.

We will win, but don't be surprised when the casualties are much higher than before as the fighting is now more fierce and in urban areas

God bless the USA

It's confirmed...PFC Jessica Lynch was rescued near Nazeriyah by a SEAL team operating on on "friendly" local intelligence.

Agreed, Derek. I do think the casualties will be higher than before. I just hope this does not drag on for too long.

We "own" the skies...which means that we can deplete their concentrations at will, and our ground troops are better trained, better equipped and have higher morale than their opposition...if our casualties DO mount, it will be from the sneak and/or suicide attacks we have seen already, and Iraq has promised to deliver.
