New Jersey gives activated National Guard members a raise!

Govenor McGreevey was quoted in the paper this morning that all activated Army and Air National Guard members will have their pay increased from $60 to $100 per day. They will also get discounts for NJ Transit and automatic extensions for their licenses and registrations.

Though NJ's budget is in the crapper like every other state's is, I think it's the right thing to do!

BTW - we received from JR's base on Monday a fax with his mailing address. At least now Marty and I and the rest of the family have a way of sending things and contacting him.

Also, apparently one of the troops that died in the helicopter accident that occurred last weekend came from a nearby town - Woodbury Heights, NJ.
