Blackhawk down

Again, thanks to our tactis of not securing a city, we have suffered 11 needless casualties and 7 deaths. Take the cities and quit bypassing them. These attacks behind the front lines never should happen!

I am sure the troops are doing the best they can. I say your comment is a slap in the face to our military's efforts. IMHO     I am sure they are more upset about their loss and supposed mistake than you are. :o

I am questioning the tactics, nothing more. The troops are doing the best they can, it is a few leaders who are not (i.e. Rumsfeld wanting a quick war, instea dof the more traditional type)

I respect the leaders of this country as well as the troops...IMHO They are doing a great job executing this war. I am criticizing the tactics. Admin cirticism is off limits until the day after Iraq announces their unconditional surrender. I am saying that the leaders need to reconsider their tactics though. It almost seems that after we annouce victory is when we suffer the greatest number of casualties. I am not sure if these are delayed reports, or if the Iraqis are melting away and coming back to fight us with guerrila tactics

Monday morning quarterbacking is always easy. The tactics being critized have been instrumental in putting the only US heavy armoured force in place to put pressure on the Republican Guard at an early point in the war. The cities by-passed have presented no significant military obstacle to the war so far. Lighter armed forces have been dealing with the by-passed forces while allowing freedom of movement for main US force. Also US losses have been very low considering what has been accomplished. Pretty good strategy as far as I'm concerned .

As far as Rumsfield, to date he has been critized for wanting a cheap war, wanting a quick war and not giving General Franks the troops that were requested. The later has been denied by everyone from General Franks up so as far as I'm concerned it's a moot point. Wanting a quick and cheap war aren't bad in my book.

I think this is terribly sad but I also think they are doing the best they can.......which is still the best in the world.

God Bless our fallen troops and their families.
