Hollywood planning "Jessica Lynch" movie...
This from FoxNews in a debate during Neil Cavuto's hour...
The rescued POW hasn't even been sent CONUS/Walter Reed Hospital yet, and the moguls are already planning to obtain "rights" to make a movie about her? :o

That was brought up in the debate....all these "big-name" actors, who protested lapsis linguae about this war...will want their piece of the action by "starring" in this flick, and hopefully lining their already overstuffed bank accounts with all the lurid details for the world to see in living Technicolor...can anyone say "hypocrisy"?

I don't have a problem with a movie, just the timing. Let the young lady heal, rest, and recover...allow Jessica to make that decision AFTER she recovers....I mean years from now, not weeks or months.
That seems to be Hollywood's problem sometimes...they rush things without any consideration for the victims/ heroes and usually end up with a botched flick with half truths that turns people off.
This is a heroic miraculous story from start to finish--a brave little country girl that sent several of Saddam's best guns to meet "Allah", a couple of them after being shot herself; taken captive and brutalized, as all her friends and comrades were executed...but she alone survives--thanks to another unlikely hero..a compassionate Iraqi lawyer that put the welfare of a teenage American girl above the safety of himself and his family....IMO this movie could be a blockbuster, an inspirational, riveting movie that would inspire generations to come: IF they have the patience and common sense to allow Jessica to recover mentally and physically...let her write her memoirs, her memories of what happened with a clear mind and healthy body.
Will they? I doubt it in this era of "Fear Factor real life realism at warp speed", and damn the subject's emotions and the truth....but I wish they would. This young lady's story has the potential to be another "Saving Private Ryan" or "Midway".
I truly hope they put Jessica's interest first...that's by far the most important consideration. I'd much rather see her happy and healthy in ten years than a media blitz that ruins her life forever. She has more than earned the right to live the remainder of her life in peace.
God Bless her!

I agree Perry. She needs time to heal...they can talk about a movie later....much later.

well no one has said the girl didn't want it to happen. For all we know she may need the money...just b/c there isn't much opportunity in West Virginia. Besides her family really likes to be in front of the cameras anyways.

Well said!!!
In the long run, the emotional and psychological wounds will likely be far more difficult for Jessica to overcome than the broken bones.
My sister recovered from her broken wrist in a few weeks. It took over a decade of counseling and the love and understanding of her wonderful husband and myself to heal the emotional scars....and stop the terrible nightmares
