I have Cox now, but I used to have Charter in Sedalia. I prefer them, but I didn't see that choice until I had voted for Cox. Oh well!

I don't understand. Are you talking about TV cable or internet cable. If it's tv cable, you don't get a choice, do you? I thought that tv cable was a franchise for a specific geographic area. If it's internet cable, that could be different. In my case, our local tv cable is digital with internet cable over the same lines. Ours is a regional company that doesn't show up on the radar screen. Service is good but a little pricey. We pay about $110 a month for expanded basic service on 4 tv's (no HBO, Showtime or Skinimax) and one computer.

I've had Comcast since I moved to Florida in July 2000. (Finally) got Comcast High Speed Internet on November 1, 2002. I have had no problems with either, so I have no way of knowing if Time Warner and the others are better or worse.
I used to have Time Warner, then MediaOne for some time when in living Massachusetts. MediaOne merged with AT&T Broadband, then Comcast and AT&T Broadband merged in December (2002). As far as I know they are going to just be called Comcast, without AT&T in the name.
Another bit of information... I read that most Michigan residents have Comcast Cable. Also, MediaOne/AT&T becoming Comcast, very many cities and towns in Massachusetts who had AT&T Broadband now are Comcast subscribers

I fully agree Marshall!!! Not that I had a choice of cable companies in my area though. I just knew I didn't want satellite with the probs it has when it rains or storms.
