#1 Postby chadtm80 » Fri Apr 11, 2003 3:49 pm

Time Warner Cable's Central Florida division is changing its name to Bright House Networks effective April 1, the cable company announced late Thursday.

In addition to Bright House Networks in Central Florida, Bright House will be launched as the name of five other divisions serving together a total of 2.1 million customers. Those divisions include Tampa Bay, Birmingham, Indianapolis, Detroit and Bakersfield.

Bright House Networks is managed by Syracuse, N.Y.-based Advance/Newhouse.

Advance/Newhouse partners' other interests include "Conde Nast" and "Fairchild" magazines; "Parade" magazine; daily newspapers serving 26 cities; American City Business Journals, which publishes business journals in 41 cities including Tampa, Orlando and Birmingham; Advance Internet and Conde'Net, producers of online services; and a significant interest in Discovery Communications.

Chad, interesting information. I thank you for posting it. I haven't heard about Time Warner Cable's Florida division changing to Bright House Networks. It sounds like a new cable provider.

I have Comcast here in central Florida and understand that much of the Orlando, Florida area have Time Warner Cable.

I will certainly here about this tomorrow on the local news.
