Favourite music to listen to during a storm...

#1 Postby jj_frap » Mon Sep 13, 2004 9:36 pm

Thunderstorm:

Old school Metallica, especially For Whom the Bell Tolls, Master of Puppets, and (my personal favourite) The Four Horsemen

Rain storm, no thunder/lightning:

Iron Maiden -- Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Winter storm:

Madonna -- Frozen

Oops, forgot Rammstein:

In general, their ballads go well with winter storms while their heavier songs go well with thunderstorms, although that's not always the case.

Rammstein's Spieluhr is probably a better blizzard song than Frozen, but nothing beats Frozen for ice storms.

"Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful...and as long as you've got no place to go...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...." :D

I am surprised no one has said this.... "Trying to Reason with the Hurricane Seaon" by Jimmy Buffett...
Another good song. It is by a local band... "No Rain" Vic Ferrari (not the Blind Melon song... all together different song....no resemblance)

I like the sound of rain so much that I don't put music on during storms.

Geek that I am...

The Offspring: YES!!!
Linkinpark: NO!!! Nu-Metal is crap.

If you want aggressive, heavy music while storm-chasing, early Metallica, particularly The Four Horsemen from their first album. is perfect.

Thunderstorm/ TS: Has to be Jimmy Buffet-"Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "gypsies".

For a snowstorm, you can't beat "Mele Kalikimaka".

How about "Weather Channel Christmas Music" during a winter storm?

I agree! There is no better lullaby than the sound of rain on a tent..... and I have to get up to watch the storm if it comes through at night. No sleeping allowed!
