WCBD-TV 2 reported tonight that an 8 foot alligator taking residence right outside their studio on Coleman Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant was captured without problem earlier today. The alligator looked like it was "well-fed" and it was also reported that 6 more alligators are loose somewhere around the area.

Storms... we see gators pretty much everyday down here in the south, especially in Florida and Louisiana. I can almost imagine what people who never see them must have thought. There was even one in a nearby lake that was 17 feet long. We have an alligator farm about 8 miles from me that has a crocodile that is 25 feet long. When Hurricane Georges blew through here in '98 those gators got loose and were seen crossing a major highway. Luckily they were all caught. They have even been known to nest in drainage ditches in Pascagoula.

Hey, Linda.
We have plenty of alligators in the area, but not as many as Florida does.
I thought it was ironic that the alligator seemingly wasn't as all "camera-shy" so to speak. Usually an alligator will show up in an odd location once a month on the news, but right at the TV-2 studios I thought was a little on the funny side.

LOL.. bet those guys were pretty nervous with that dude hanging around.
I have a resident gator who lives in the creek on my property. He is still pretty small though and extremely shy. He loves to bask on the bank and then go for a swim. Fortunately he stays away from the house because he has lots of water to swim in and there are loads of fish in there. He keeps very much to himself. Just hope he stays where he is :o
