Just wondering which TV family do you think is a carbon copy of your life?

The opposite of "Eddie's Father" (where the father was a widower with a son). In my case it was just my mom and me after my dad died when I was five.

Of course, now, it's more like "Mad About You." I've been told I'm like a female version of Paul...just waiting on Jamie to come around.

One of my dogs acts like the dog on "Mad about You"-always bumping into things. He doesn't have a medical condition, just bad timing. :)

Murray is so adorable

That's what I need -- a Murray! That's how Paul met Jamie. :)

For the years we were raising our two boys, we were our own sitcom. Can't think of any in particular that seemed to mirror us on TV, or that we mirrored on TV, but we could have been a top ten during some of those years!

I know for a fact we were not the Brady Bunch, not that 70's Show, and not the Simpsons, though.

We are like the Raymond show..I love that show.. I swear that if my mom hadnt died last year, it would only have been a matter of time before she and my dad packed up and moved in my neighborhood... Not that they lived far, 17 miles down the road!!

I forgot about some of those shows. Galveston-the dog is a great idea!!

As for what I grew up in it was definitely Roseanne, but in a big city. I think now we are like Raymond but without kids. My family is sooo different than my husband's family. I swear they got Deborah's mom by following my mom around. And my husband's mom is a homemaker who feels the same way about my husband that Ray's mom feels about him!!!

Mine's more like a "Family Matters" type since we had a constant guest in my mom's house.

A very interesting question...

When I was a kid growing up, the closest tv family to ours was probably "7th Heaven" (dad was a church pastor); or a cross between "7th Heaven" and "Leave it to Beaver".

However, after mom's death when I was 16, our family became dysfunctional..and to some extent, still is today (not as screwed up as "Married With Children" mind you, but not as peaceful and well adjusted as the "Brady Bunch" either :D
