Touchy Subject Has Me Wondering....
If our planet is millions of years old, where did God come from. And, who did God tell the story of Adam and Eve to? These are just things that I wonder about. If the planet is that old and Adam and Eve came millions of years later, the Bible says God was lonely and wanted man. Why did he wait so long?

A million years isn't long to Him.
And who can say there wasn't a world before us that He hasn't told us about? A world where perhaps original sin didn't exist, but much much later, someone screwed things up royally and everyone became selfish, arrogant, prideful, lustful, murderous, and greedy. A world where everything was being destroyed and everyone was destroying each other? And then God destroyed that world, rested (for a million years), and then created ours?
I don't know -- just speculation. Nothing Biblical or whatever. Just wondering.

Janice wrote:Thanks Galveston, never thought there might have been a previous generation before Adam and Eve. If there was and it got distroyed, I am sure all documentation, etc. got distroyed also. But, why wouldn't the bible have stated such. It says, Adam and Eve were the first. Thanks
Perhaps there was no need to let us know. After all, He's the one who is omnipotent, not us. We don't get to know everything. We just have faith in His plan.

Janice wrote:You could be right. Ok, then he decided to have Christ appear later. Evidently he didn't feel the need to have Jesus appear before he did. I am still confused about the whole thing. Maybe someone will send me a good link about religion before Adam and Eve. Thank you
Maybe? Who knows. I will look for a site but I can give no guareentees.

I can, too, David. There's a place in history
for all of God's creations, and, we may not be
able to easily place them into time periods, as
humans tend to want to do. And, I agree with
Duck that we don't get to know everything, but,
just have to have Faith in His plan. Studying
archaeology for me is very interesting, but,
there's so much that can't be explained by humans.

Or to humans. I think there are things that we are not meant to know because we could not comprehend them.
Such as-Where did the universe come from? My answer is simple and very difficult all at the same time. God created the univers. Then that begs the question-who created God? IMO, God is, was and always will be-a very difficult concept for many to understand-and one that I accept exactly as stated. Then to me everything else falls into place.

Yes, we don't know how things began and we don't know how they will end.
It could very well be possible that there have been generations millions of years ago of people. How would we know. An astroid could have eliminated the earths population, there are signs of earth damage from something, virus and plagues could have caused deaths and who knows, maybe there were generations as smart or maybe even smarter than us, who did themselves in.If we as man have accomplished what we have in the past hundred years, why couldn't man have done it millions of years ago too.
