TAMPA (Court TV) — Kenyatta Walker became the second member of the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be arrested in recent weeks after the offensive lineman refused to leave a Tampa nightclub.
Walker tried to enter the VIP floor of a five-floor club during the early morning hours on April 26 but was stopped at the entrance by bouncers and told to go to another area of the club. Walker, 24, became upset, according to police.
Five bouncers escorted Walker to the exit and an officer pepper-sprayed him before he was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was released from a Hillsborough County jail on his own recognizance.
Walker's teammate Dwight Smith was arrested 10 days earlier for pointing a gun at a motorist who was trying to merge into the same lane as Smith. He was charged with aggravated assault.
Walker was a first-round draft selection for the Buccaneers in 2001. He started every game on the line as a rookie, but did not play the first game of the 2002 season because of a sub-par training camp. He went on to start the remaining regular season games and all three playoff games.
