Rocker Bryan Adams shot

#1 Postby Amanzi » Fri May 02, 2003 8:50 am

Rock star Bryan Adams has revealed he was shot as he rode a motorbike through London.

The singer said he felt a "jolt" through his leathers and later found a hole in his biker jacket.

He told Radio 2 DJ Johnnie Walker the incident happened in the Old Street area of east London and joked: "It's like the Bronx out there."

He said: "It was a bit weird. I had a friend on the bike with me and we were coming through London and I felt a jolt on my back.

"Later on, I found out that I'd been shot with an air-rifle - it was the weirdest thing. I had a hole in the back of my jacket.

"I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else, but there is someone up around Old Street with a rifle, so stay clear of there."

Adams said it was unlikely that he had been targeted on purpose as his identity would have been obscured.

"We had our helmets on, somebody goofing off I guess," he said.

Holy Cow! Caught in the cross fire of a BB gun battle :)

I'm a big fan of Bryan Adams. He opened for the Rolling Stones once here in Atlanta.

Do these lyrics sound familiar bfez?

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it till my fingers bled
It was the summer of '69

Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shoulda known we'd never get far

Oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

He was very popular in the 80's. I enjoy his music. The lyrics are from "Summer of '69" Kewl.

I never heard of Bryan Adams, either. An air-rifle, never heard of one of those either.

I glad he is okay, too. :)

Forgot to mention that Bryan Adams should not be classified as "Rocker" but more like "Pop Rock" :D

What surprises me is that anyone in the UK HAS a BB gun! UK has the most restrictive anti-gun laws in the Western world, with Canada and Australia close seconds; even possession of a squirt gun is illegal.

GOD BLESS AMERICA...and remember that "The doorway to Liberty is lined with muskets" (Charlton Heston, President Emeritus of the National Rifle Association). Want my gun? I'll be happy to give it to you...one round at a time.

Hey RP...Bryan Adams rules!!

He's always been one of my favorites....I'm just thankful it was an air rifle and not a 30.06

Actually An Air Rifle

#18 Postby Aslkahuna » Fri May 02, 2003 7:29 pm

is a bit more than than a BB gun-it's a pellet gun and the modern versions of Air Rifles have sufficient muzzle velocity to result in injury if one is struck in an unprotected part of the body. It's the small size of the pellet that prevents it from being a lethal weapon.

Hey Perry - Yes he is very good. I enjoy that genre of music. Summer of 69' just gets my feet tappin' :D

Hey Steve, Your right. I have one that you can pump up. I can place one pellet at a time in it, and have had good luck with rodents, and crows in the garden.

Saw Bryan Adams back in the late 80's in Nashville at
a "One For The Sun" concert. He met one of his wives on stage
there....they went on to tour, marry, and divorced......
....ahhhhh...Life in the Fast Lane....... 8)
