KENOSHA, Wis. (Court TV) — There have to be easier things to steal.
Along with a Remington 870 Express shotgun, a custom-made pool cue and a Tupperware container filled with change, a burglar also walked off with 2-foot-long alligator from a Kenosha home.
Kenneth Grandou called police at about 5:30 p.m. on April 24 after he arrived home from work and found several things missing. He told police he found the back door unlocked.
But at 7:15 p.m., officers were called back when Grandou's son arrived home and discovered his pet alligator was taken from an aquarium in the basement.
Authorities are questioning a 15-year-old in connection with the theft. They have recovered the shotgun and pool cue, but still no sign of the alligator.
"There have been no reports of a stray alligator wandering city streets," said Kenosha police Sgt. John Morrissey said. "It's probably in the sewer."
Thief gets unexpected suprise.
