Bottled water
With so much of our water supplies being contaminated, do you drink bottled water? Us.....NO, we don't have to, our water here in Pinetop is 99.99% PURE, requires very little to no treatment. Funny story, had a door to door salesman try to sell us a water treatment system, invited the guy in, he tested our water, turned WHITE as a sheet, packed his stuff up and said, "I couldn't even begin to sell you a system!" Our water is SOOOO cold that you don't even need ice for a ice water :o

Dennis....I don't think our boys (now 26 and 30) had anything but "treated" or "bottled" water to drink since they were born.
Drinking tap water is something we just have never done as a matter of practice. Taste was always the issue...not necessarily fear of contiminants. While I was on the public works committee of our home town, I got a good look at our drinking water process. It was MORE than what was required by law, but it still tasted bad.
Now...the net result may be that our brains are smaller or non-existent...but we these days we also buy our ice. It's not "designer ice" though.
We leave that for the more uppity people here in "Snotsdale Arizona."

I have never had bottled water continously, however a few months after my parents and I moved to to central Florida our neighbor put in a water filter in our garage to filter our water. We still have "hard water" but it tastes better than it did, for the short time.
They say to have the filter changed every year, but we try to go a bit longer. It should be changed rather soon, but my father wants to put it off as longer as possible.

LOL Linda,
I have brownish Auburn hair already, so guess the iron in the water has been adding to my red highlights! No purple or green YET! My hair is down to my waist and because the water here is so hard, it takes me about an hour to get a comb through it......lets just say Bob Marley has nothing on me when I have just stepped out of the shower!

I think it is the smell of the water that gets to me more than anything, it really does STINK! I will not even start on the build up of rust and lime on my dishes and my lovely orange shade of white clothes!
Living in this house has really been a test on me. I have had to learn to live with it (not only the water, but the fact that it is over 100 years old and in a horrible neighbourhood) However it has taught me to be greatful just to have a roof over my head! If we had to pay rent at this current time, we would never have been able to afford the lawyers fees we have had to pay. I have prayed very hard about getting out of this house, but over the course of the time we have been here I have seen God's wisdom in allowing me to be in this place, I pray daily for His grace to live here. I know it is not forever, and God alone knows the best place for me to be at this time in my life.

I have well water, but it isn't nearly as bad as what Amanzi has. It's very clean...although sometimes it will be discolored and occasionally it smells bad. I don't drink the stuff though. I rent a water cooler from Rainbow water. We get around 25 gallons of water per month. It ends up costing around $25 per month. It's WELL worth it (no pun intended)
