On my way to Starbucks...

#1 Postby azskyman » Sun May 04, 2003 9:37 am

On my way to Starbucks this morning, hardly a soul on the road. I pulled up to the stop sign in the airpark where you face this business building called Alcor.

In front of that building was parked a flashy new Jaguar. It was parked next to the trash dumpster in the lot.

Inside this building are the partial remains (a head, I believe) of baseball legend Ted Williams. Frozen in time in icy cold temps until that day when his DNA might be reawakened with another baseball star "in the making."

I was curious, of course, just who might be the owner of the car....and if, by chance, they might be inside having a cup of Starbucks and chatting with Ted on this nice Sunday morning.

Or maybe, just maybe, that expensive Jag belongs to the company owner who was inside making sure the thermostat was working properly over the weekend. Last I heard, he had a contract to keep Ted on ice for quite a few years.

And if that thermostat fails, that dumpster looked to have plenty of available space.

Here in S FL I live near the intracoastal. There is a yacht that is sometimes parked by one of the big houses in Manalapan Island. The name on it is Alcor. I don't know who it belongs to. Part-time residents I suppose.

I'll take a large Cafe Mocha, please.
