OMG, Cabbage Patch Dolls are BACK!!

#1 Postby alicia-w » Thu Nov 18, 2004 8:35 am

WHo would have ever thought that we could get little girls to play with those ugly dolls again?!?!?!

My dad just sent me another box of my mom's things and there was a Cabbage Patch Doll in there, over 20 years old. I may give it to my granddaughter.....

You know what's funny is I have two older nieces (24 and 27) that live out of town now. I am opting for gift certificates for their xmas gifts since they're not coming home this year. But they were the generation's parents that stood for hours in line waiting to buy these dolls. And I remember Lauren and Kara toting them around.

If they were easy to buy and I wanted to tease them again, a CP doll could be a good gift idea? LOL

Naw, won't do that....

Cabbage Patch Dolls are a classic. Glad they are back.

Anyone remember Holly Hobby? Or the Little Kittles?

Holly Hobby. I liked those.

Just talked to my husband and he said that our daughter was talking about getting her daughter one of the CBDs. So the package of my mom's stuff couldnt have come at a better time!! And her's will be a vintage CBD to boot!

I never enjoyed the Cabbage Patch Kids as much as the other girls I grew up with. Now give me a few My Little Ponies and I was in Heaven.

I notied that they're coming back, too. Everything old is new again, eh?

I remember my CP doll. His name was Archibald, I mean I ask you now! What were the makers of these dolls thinking, naming a doll Archibald... I could hardly get my tounge around the archi part  Anyway, he ended up being called Jon, being played with maybe twice and spent the duration of his life locked up in the back of the toy chest... I was not one for dollies! I played with He-man action figures

I used to play with horses and had all of the Best of the West Collection.. Those were always my favorite toys.

I have to admit that I sleep with a little stuffed tropical colored fish. My Dad gave him to me about 3 years ago. I also have a little purple smiling egg that has arms and legs. I can't sleep without them.

I have a teddy bear (given to me by my maternal grandmother) that sits in an armchair in our room. My husband always stuck in my armoire until we were watching the Antiques Roadshow and discovered that it was a Steiff bear. I knew that but he didnt. Now that he knows how much it's worth, he wont even touch it!!!
