Going off-line, catching hell here...

#1 Postby streetsoldier » Tue May 06, 2003 9:49 pm

We have had NWS warnings all evening about tornadoes in Perry and Cape Girardeau counties up north of us, and now one was sighted 12 miles north at Benton, our county seat. :o

Nothing so far here in Sikeston, buit as a precautionary measure I'm shutting down. If Storm2K admins want to check in with me, I'll most likely be up all night.

Hey Bill... I saw the radar in your area. I am praying for you. Check in as soon as you can.

Be safe, my friend. You follow Annabelle's instructions. Her instincts will guide your decisions.

Take care Bill. There's a tornado warning for Scott county just to your north.

Yes indeed, Bill was not too far from that rare rotating cell that was over De Soto about three hours ago.

That complex is heading this way. It's looking like the worst of it may stay just to my south. No warnings yet in the 4 counties I have programmed in my noaa radio.

I hope what I said wasn't taken the wrong way. I meant it sounds good to track the activity moving towards the Evansville, Indiana area, not that it sounds good that problems could arise out of the potential severe weather.

Heck, no problem CF. It wasn't taken the wrong way at all.
Rotating t-storm just south of me, looks like the worst will miss here. But it is crawling. Loud clap of thunder just now. Think I'll give the computer a break. See ya.

Now having a brief respite from the bad stuff, so I thought I should check in with y'all; Annabelle (she be a ho') only wants to get out there and "drive off" the storms(!!!)...she's been worshipping at the "Temple of Ahrr-Ahrr" again!

We had our share of T-storms, but the tornadoes seem to have been mostly north of us; Benton, however, is only 12 miles away (we're in Scott County, near the border with New Madrid County at I-60), so that was close enough. :o

The TV "Emergency Broadcast Signal" warnings were interrupting programming every 10 minutes for about 4 hours there (Philip was upset because he missed some scenes from the soon-to-be-finished "Buffy" series, which he "lives for"...)

More T-storms are predicted all week, every day....so we are far from "out of it". Captain Midnight and the good ship "Bootheel" are still afloat...almost literally!

She be a good ho!!!

Between all of that rain and wind, there are now large trees that are just falling over because the ground is too soft for the roots to hang onto anything! Take it easy again today!
