RIP. i found him in the top of the garage. he must have climbed up there shortly after he got out. i dont know why he died. it wasnt because of the cold or lack of food. either he just died of natural causes or he was poisoned? i am falling apart right now. i wish it was me and not him.

he loved me

Helen,

I'm truly sorry about Blackie. May be he knew he was sick and sought out a place to die. Animals often do that.

Take care!

I would feel the same way Helen. A cat that we had when we were growing up named Wendy was 17 years old and one day just disappeared on us as well. We always let out our cats and they didn't go out of the yard. We never found her. There was nothing you could do Helen.

Helen - I am also so sorry for your loss. I'm an animal lover and own a Golden Retriever right now (grew up w/ lots of cats too) so I know how attached we can become to them. I'm sure your heart is broken. Just know you have friends here that you can lean on. Since you were a wonderful pet owner, focus on the good life you gave him. I hope that is some comfort right now.
