When do you take down your Christmas tree?

#1 Postby southerngale » Wed Dec 29, 2004 2:48 pm

When I was growing up, my parents usually took it down after I went back to school. I remember crying when it was gone. Christmas time was officially over.

I've had mine up since very early December and it's really dry and probably a fire hazard with the lights on. lol
I'll take it down as soon as I get a chance after New Year's.

I love decorating for Christmas but I hate taking it all down.

New Year's Day. That's the end of the holidays for me. After that, it just looks out of place.

I have a friend who left her tree up until June last year. Don't ask.

I know someone who just decorates her tree for Mardi Gras, then Easter, and on and on...

Your house, you can call them what you want. You can have a Kwanzukkah bush if you'd like.

I took mine down yesterday. I put it up on Thanksgiving. I'm a big believer in putting it up early(Thanksgiving USED to be early), but taking it down ASAP after Christmas. I took it down The Day After last year, but put it off due to the Earthquake and because I didn't feel like doing it. I didn't have it lit up after Christmas Night though.

I dont like to abuse the poor thing and jsut throw it away, so I dress it up in a suit, take pictures of it, have dinner with it, and then take it down after new years day

Usually a few days after Christmas....but always before New Years Day (family tradition began by mom when I was a baby). I'll probably take down my decorations tomorrow.
