Question: Have any of you ever had a test done for osteoporosis? It doesn't hurt does it? My grandmother, mom and sis had/have osteoporosis so my doctor wants me to a test done. I've been having lots of back and neck problems in the past year.

My son is a Star Wars fan and he thinks like that are very cool. He will be 29 in May. He was diagnosed with kidney failure in June 1999 and was on dialysis for a little over a year until Sept 2, 2000 when he received a kidney transplant. At his heaviest he weighed only 95 lbs, and when he was in failure he had lost down to 75 lbs. It took him over a year to gain back weight he had lost before the transplant. His current weight is 92 lbs and he is a short guy at 5'2". Before the osteoporosis was diagnosed he lost height in his spine. He lost about 4 inches. Before he got sick he was as tall as I am and I am 5'6"
