Co-workers and so called friends
Has anyone ever had one of those women friends that think they are better than anyone else? One that follows you around trying to take credit for your work. One that acts all innocent to your face but is steady trying to take your job. Even has the men in the office thinking she does no wrong and when she wants them to jump they ask her how high? Claims to be a Christian but is the devil in disguise? Can't stand it when you are asked to do something important and questions why this happened? Wants everything on a silver platter but does not contribute? Or one that wants everything you have but is too narrow minded to understand that batting your eyes and whining like a baby will not get you anywhere in life. I despise women like this and I just sit back and watch, because in the end they will be exposed for the person that they really are.

Yes. In fact, she just got "promoted" to Manager of our mailroom, and I got to take over about 1/2 of her job, in addition to my regular job.
<sigh> At least she doesn't sit in the cube next to me anymore.

Oh Linda, I feel for ya. I really do. Sunny just had trouble with a coworker. I'm sure she'll respond in no time. And have good advice for you.
I worked with a few flakes or sneaky women years ago. But for the most part, my coworkers that worked the hours I did were top-notch. I still keep in touch with them too! We had a real comraderie going usually. One lady would shirk responsibilities but she was very nice to all of us. We devised little ways to make her work. None of which she picked up on!!!

Linda, it sounds like you're not having fun. I've always worked around mostly other men, and I'd like to keep it that way. We have some little interpersonal issues, but nothing like what you're experiencing. We do have a guy who gets on everyone's nerves, but he keeps hanging himself. Nothing real devious though. He's just lumpish. I don't know what to tell you, but it sounds like you need to blow off some steam and get some validation for how you feel, more than anything else. Go on.....We're listening...

Coppertop is dealing with a so-called "friend" like that in his Tae Kwon Do classes. This guy's a few belts ahead of him, but Coppertop is progressing much faster than he did, and so he "picks" on my son every chance he gets...out of Master's range of hearing, that is.
What is really strange is that this kid invited Coppertop to join in the first place...back in July.

That is exactly what I am talking about. I just do not understand why people are like this. Jealousy? Hatred? I just do not know. All I know is this type of mentality drives me up the wall. Other people can't see it happening because they are too impressed with how she looks.

BINGO!!!
I've worked with all kinds, men and women alike. When I first started to work at the Tropicana as the Financial Reporting manager I ended up promoting one girl as my Assistant Manager. BIG MISTAKE! She was all talk and no substance. HOWEVER, people realized that after several important projects and responsibilities we assigned to her somehow she could never get them done, never the less, done right. Guess who had to step in - ME and my boss (who was another BEOOTCH!).
Give it time and if you have any pull or anyway of making sure that she is responsible for her job alone, then I would take advantage of that. Sooner or later the batting eyes and innocent looks get VERY OLD!!

You are exactly right Sandi. Maybe they are not as smart as they think they are. They think they are being sneaky but little do they know I have been on to their scams for months.

I shall echo Coriolis on this one, and I'm not trying to sound chauvinist, but I think this is a woman thing. Men have a different, more direct way of dealing with bad apples at work. My wife comes home in a tizzy sometimes about one particular lady at work. I listen time and time again, and although I feel her pain, I'm a little baffled why they don't take some action to put her in her place.
We have a guy here who gets on everyone's nerves. He's repeatedly late, always taking sick time, and it is felt that his taking advantage of his salaried priviledges, will eventually take some of them away from all of us.
Our action, was a calculated and organized attack. We made up a slogan: WWWD, which stands for "What Would Will Do". It is used openly to draw attention to his lousy work ethics. At first, it didn't work, but of late, I think it is actually eating at him because he has actually improved his arrival time (although he's not in yet ). Men will let you have it, but not in a way that makes enemies of one another. It's hard to explain, but interior conflicts, are few and far between in the male dominated workplace.
