Am I wrong or right?
I nearly lost a good friend yesterday...a guy I've known since the 8th grade. What provoked it?
I went by his home (at his invitation) to drop off some Skywarn information -- he's interested in becoming a storm spotter.
His 29 year old girlfriend opens the front door wearing NOTHING (nude). Needless to say, I was taken aback..tried to look the other way, and left as quickly as I could (she was home alone, and it was after 1 p.m.). He got upset at me last night...because I refused to enter the house. I told him as politely as possible that I didn't care for that type of behavior. He called me a "square", and insinuated they both went nude all the time inside their home.
Number one, I'd likely never marry a woman that pranced nude around the house all day. My mom didn't do it, nor my sisters. Regardless of what my friend and his girlfriend do in their own home...is it too much to ask for her to at least have the decency to put on a housecoat or robe when answering the door; especially to a stranger (I'd never met this woman in my life).
Was I wrong to tell him I was shocked and offended??
Thanks,
Perry

Perry, you were right in my opinoin not to enter the house, and to tell your friend you disaproved of such behavior!
I would be utterly horrified, if such a thing had to happened to me. I consider this ladies actions very unlady like and she is asking for trouble! Who in there right mind answers the door with NO CLOTHES on! It is one thing to be comfortable with nudity in your own home, but another to outrightly offend people!
Well done to you Perry for standing your ground!

Ditto here - you did the right thing Perry, IMO. And as Dennis said, good thing you didn't enter that house. You can't be too careful these days...no telling what a person will do, as witnessed here.
Hold your head up high, you've nothing to be ashamed of.
Nalora, loved your reply. You're fitting in perfectly at Storm2K!!!!

rainstorm, awww, never happens to me either......
Actually the things I saw years ago while boating with my family. Usually at boat ramps or at the marina (coming, going, gassing up). Swimsuits optional it seemed like back then. Mid 80s.....usually it was people drinking too much and being in the sun all day. The two combined were not good. My dad always kept his binoculars handy! You never knew what you were going to see.....feel sorry for any families back then. I did see my fair share of bizarre things then.....eons ago now.

You did absolutely the right thing Perry! I am very liberal minded about that type of behavior, as long as it is behind closed doors. As stated above, it is good that you have as much respect as you do for yourself and others. Not tellling you what to do, but I'd certainly curtail my contact with that couple.

Thanks for the support folks. I've known that guy for 28 years....we've been fishing, went to lunch; and I had no idea he walked around his house all day as a nudist (he didn't the last time I was there before yesterday).
In all honesty, I think his new girlfriend is a very bad influence. His marriage ended in divorce about 18 months ago (and I thought he was making a mistake...Carly is a good woman). Now he's 40, living with a woman in her late 20's, and making a fool of himself.
I hadn't been to his home since before his divorce, and never expected what occurred in my wildest nightmare (it's never happened to me before, nor to anyone in my family).
Again, thanks everyone! I knew my conscience was right...I thought that young woman was insane (still do
God Bless,
Perry

Wow... I have never had that happen to me, but you would think that she would have had sense enough to put on a robe or something. What if it had been the newspaper or the police?
You did the right thing!

You did the right thing!
