My first one was a hand me down and I don't even remember the brand. lol
It didn't last long though as it was very slow! I bought a new Monorail, a generic with very few problems...only had to update a few inexpensive things in 4 1/2 years.
Then the hell on earth computer that I had custom built and paid out the butt for from a scumbag thief. He built me crap from many used parts, took my money, sold his business about 2 weeks later and ran off to the Philippines. At that same time, he upgraded my old Monorail. It is very crappy as well with constant error messages, blue screens and it has to be restarted at least once a day as the resources get very low. I've seen it get under 10% before. Both of them are garbage but I just got the custom built one back from someone else who has supposedly fixed it. I haven't hooked it up yet though. I'm on my brand new Dell Dimension 4700 and planning a mission to the Philippines.

3rd: Getting this year...Dell Inspiron 5100 (I think) notebook with a 3.5 GHz Pentium 4 Processor and 60 GB hard drive.

Mine was a Timex Sinclair 1000. 2k RAM with about a 3MHz CPU. Ran off of a tape player. Only game I could play was Big Flap Attack.
Second machine was my beloved Commodore 64. EA Winter Sports and Zork fans, unite!
Fast forward a whole bunch of years and machines (most of which are saved for a technology museum I'd like to open one day, along with every single AOL disk ever received - including the DOS version
), and I'm loving my Pentium 4 Gateway w/256 MB RAM. Meets all my current needs and runs like a dream (with exception to the XP-targeted viruses last year. Yay.). Running a wireless network off of it. Hubbie's stuck with the Dell, and eldest daughter has the off-the-shelf HP. Neither of them are allowed to touch my machine

This is my first computer, a HP Pavillion 7865 with a 80GB hard drive. It came with WIN ME as tha operating system and only 128 mb of memory. With that amount of memory, ME was as slow as a turtle in molasses on a cold day. I doubled the memory after I found a PC help forum and posted about my slow WIN ME. Since then I have doubled that amoun to max out the memory this computer will handle. I also upgraded to XP. We bought this computer in June 2001 after my youngest son exposed us to computers when he came home from boot camp.
