On DOOL -- what gives? John is addicted to drugs now? Did they finally ALL get off the island? Is Caroline still alive? And what are earth are they talking about when they say "Sami/Stan?" Is Sami doing some weird drag thing or something??

John Black was injured while escaping from the Isalnd. So he is now addicted to pain killers for his injuries. Sammy is now playing Stan to get revenge on Kate for setting her up with Brandon on the night before Lucas and her wedding. Tony is behind it also. Roman and Marlena are still on the island along with Jack and the girl who was Rex's sister.

"Stan?" I still don't get it...is she masquerading as a guy? I'm only going by what I read and it makes little sense to me. She's too darn cute to be a Stan anyway.

Yes Sammy is masquerading as a man. I think it is a guy really but they use Sammy's voice to represent the character's thinking to herself and the change in voice to others is via a voice changing device that Tony gave her.

I know that the character playing the Sammy role is a guy, and I think its because Alison Sweeny just had a baby boy, so she is taking some time off and thats the way to write her off for a little while, she will be back.. I was getting ready to watch days today, but PGA golf was on!!! I was mad, so I watched the DVR of Desperate Housewives I recorded last night. It's nuts, I tell ya...just nuts! What kind of a weird twist is that? Sami as a guy! Puh-leeze! Do they know how intensely erotic that girl can be? No way could anyone REALLY believe that storyline, could they? I mean, besides that fact that it's a guy playing the role anyway. How weird! That's just preposterous! It's bizarre! It's convoluted! It's...oh, wait...it's a soap opera...nevermind. :lol:

I'm so glad I no longer watch DOOL! John on drugs....what next, Bo a murderer or on drugs? Remember we once probably said Marlena a murderer, but I never believed for a minute she was. So glad she wasn't. But who was behind the whole surreal duplicate Salem? Tony?

At one time he was my favorite male lead on Days.....a long, long time ago! And at the time Thaao Penghlis was my hottie, as my teen daughters would say.....this was before George Clooney showed up on ER. LOL

I wanted Stefano to be responsible...not Tony!

I'm surprised I don't watch more often. But I can NOT watch Alison Sweeney in a love scene (okay, I can, but I am not a well person afterwards). If it wasn't for gross Bryan Datillo (Lucas) being in the scenes with her, I could probably watch them more. The rest of it...just weird. I don't understand anyone anymore on that show.

DOOL has been TOO WEIRD for many years!!!!! I haven't watched it in forever and don't intend to anytime soon.

Me either! I put up with Carly being buried alive and who knows what else my memory fails me with right now, but when Marlena became possessed by the Devil, I said that's it. And I quit recording/watching. Just cold turkey. Little did I know what they had in store for Marlena, more shocking than being possessed.....LOL

At the time I also thought I had watched a beloved, sci-fi type soap (Dark Shadows) so I didn't need to see a once heavily family driven soap turned into sci-fi. Days should have stuck with what worked - the two strong families Horton's/Brady's and family values. Similar to what Ryan's Hope stood for decades ago. Yes there were/are daytime shows that had good family values....eons ago!

When I hear about certain storylines, I tune in for a day or two. But time moves so slowly on daytime soaps. Too slow for me!!! People that knew me way back when, in my daytime and nighttime soap craze, can't believe I no longer watch ANY soap.

I quit watching DAYS when they made the killings all just a joke. That ticked me off! I was waiting for a huge climatic moment. I wanted the payoff to be huge. It wasn't. It was a let down. I quit watching!

But, unlike you Shawn, I don't mind Sami being male.

Took awile to find this topic but I found it!

That said, I tuned in today......I was counting pennies so why not I said? LOL

And what do I see but Patch and Kayla in a cemetary!!! I had to blink, seriously, Patch is back? Without his memory of Salem or Kayla......I've never seen ~this~ storyline before....LOL Anyway, I'm enjoying seeing him again and my gosh the actress playing Kayla (used to know her name back in my addicted to Soap days) looks great for her age. Love her hairstyle, BTW. Okay, back to my reminiscing with beloved former Days characters. Then I see Jack in the church as Jen's marrying Frankie!

All in the span of one day I saw favorites I hadn't seen in a long time (since I gave the show up years ago).

So that was nice....if anyone is watching, just bring me up to speed.

1. Has Kayla been on Days all this time or did they bring back her character so when Patch shows up, she's on?

2. The whole Sami/Carrie/Austin/Lucas storyline is dejavu isn't? I mean come on, that was going on back when I watched......geez, hasn't anyone got a clue what Sami is all about YET?

3. Bo and Hope - are they a couple or on the verge of a divorce?

4. Do you want Jen with Frankie or back with Jack?

5. And I don't believe for a minute Jack is going to die. I watched only one hour but I swear I want to predict a full recovery!!! Based upon my former soap watching experience, ya know.... ;-)

! Which at the time was quite fanatical and extensive.

They just brought Kayla back for Jennifer's wedding. Bo and Hope are on the verge, of divorce due to Chelsea killing their son Zack in a hit and run accent and is meddling in their lives. Chelsea is the daughter that Bo and Billie had when Hope was out of the picture for a while.. The Sami and Lucas battle is not over yet. It will come out soon though. As far as Jack coming back from the dead, it has been done before . When school starts up in Aug , I will only get the first 15 minutes before I have to get ready for my afternoon crossing duty.

LOL! You and I both, Mary! BTW, Mary Beth Evans is the one who plays Kayla. I used to always get her mixed up with Judi Evans who played Patch's and Jack's sister, Adrienne. Now, she plays Bonnie.

I was like, "What the? Jack? Patch? Kayla? Frankie??? I thought they were all long gone." At least it's a different Billie.

So, let me get this straight. Jack and Patch just came back "from the dead" and back into their wives' lives. Sami is now with Austin and Carrie is with Lucas, instead of Sami & Lucas and Carrie & Austin. Bo is no longer calling Hope "FancyFace" because darn Billie is still in the picture. Lexie and Abe stayed together this far, but now trouble is brewing because Lexie did the deed with some new guy who I don't know very well. Shawn-Douglas finally escaped (last time I saw him he had been kidnapped and held as some obsessed chick's love slave). Chris is now Roman and Roman is now John. Yeah, yeah, I know that's been going on for a while, but I'm still bugged by the whole first-I'm-Roman-then-I'm-John-then-I'm-Roman-then-I'm-John-again thing for Drake Hogestyn.

Well, at least Sami is still female, they're no longer stuck on an island, and Marlena isn't possessed (but is she even alive?).

Wow! Only ONE little paragraph Duck....and now I'm caught up on Days of our Lives!

I used to watch once in a while, but too many "really out there" story lines made me realize that even my "once in a while" habit was a bit much!

Oh sure.....I will put it on if I'm folding clothes or something, but I no longer feel bad if I miss it! Thanks for the update!....p :wink:
