Status on my father and an incredible experience.
My father has been moved into the regular hospital room earlier today from the COU (Close Observation Unit) and it doing much better than the past few days ... however, Sunday and Monday were very scary to say the least ... Sunday, he was unnaturaly sleepy and not really aware of his surroundings ... and Monday, it was much of the same ... originally thought to be from exhaustion from everything ... He didn't remember much from probably about Thursday - Monday. Yesterday and today, he's been very alert and aware of his surroundings and continues to improve and the outlook is good. I now believe after what he wrote down yesterday to myself and my stepmother was absolutely chilling to the bone ... and exhilirating at the same time.
I feel that I should share this because it's a very incredible experience.
I believe my father had an NDE or Near-Death Experience (Probably Sunday/Monday timeframe)
He wrote down last night that --- exact words ---- "Jesus does not want me yet"...We asked him did he see Jesus, and he nodded YES.

Mike, sorry to hear about what your father went through this past weekend and I am very glad to hear that your has improved since.
I can relate to this. My father nearly died after a cardiac arrest and heart attack half way through a nuclear stress test on Wednesday, April 4th, 2001. His short term memory isn't very good, worse than it was getting before the event in April 2001. He has absoulely no idea what happened during his first week (even both weeks) he was in the hospital. -- He had triple bypass surgery while there.

Quick status update: He's continuing to improve and today, for the first time in many weeks...he actually could talk!!!!...They are tampering the tracheotomy tubes down in size until it will no longer be needed ...
Let me tell you, it was awesome to hear him talk for the first time since the middle of April (without the hoarseness or the whispering like vocals) but a clear tone voice ...
