Have you noticed the changes in country music over the past few weeks?? Most of the newer songs have *religious themes* to them. For instance, Long Black Train, Almost home (which BTW is my FAVORITE song now, I love the part where he sings "I was climbing a cottonwood tree, being chased by honeybees") and I can't remember the name or the artist, the words, "When we get to heaven can we taste the Milky Way, can I have a pair of wings, can I help the angels pour out the rain?" There are also quite a few other new songs that have this theme, boy......thought I'd never see the day when country went from drinking, smoking etc to REAL, down to earth themes 8-)

It may be due to the Memorial Day holiday, but I hope that this is going to become the trend now!

Country wears its emotions on its sleeve. Whether it is love, relationships, kids, death, growing old, being left out, drinking too much, or going to heaven....the lyrics can tug at your heart.

Nice trend these days, but I wouldn't look for country to ignore all those other emotions in the months and years ahead.
