There was this old man who came in the store last night around 8:00 or so. I was in the shoe department cleaning up. But, I could hear everything. This old man with a cane and snow white hair was ranting and raving. He wanted to only pay $19 a month for a washer and dryer. He did not understand that you had to open up a Sears Credit Card to pay the $19 a month. He just wanted to pay the cash every month ($19) without opening up a card. The manager on duty kept explaining over and over, that we do not have a lay-away plan, and that he had to pay the full balance before taking the washer home. Whether it would be by credit card, or the full cash.
The man kept going on and on, and started raising his voice, and shaking his cane at the manager. So, she started to lose her patience, and started raising her voice. He wanted to speak to someone higher up. She said their was only one other manager that night in the store and he was going to tell him the same thing. So, he came out and told him the same thing. The man said he was going to call Chicago and complain. So, Jack, said go ahead and do that, sir.
The man held them up for at least 30 minutes. Jack said he was either a mental patient or had alzeiheimers. It seems like we have more problems with our senior citizen customers trying to make them understand certain things. And some people just want something for nothing. They think if they throw enough of a fit, they will get whatever they want.
