FUBAR -- fudged-up beyond all recognition. We used to describe injuries and/or burn patients as such.

SNAFU -- situation normal, all fudged up.

To answer, I'd have to say FUBAR is worse than SNAFU. Unless a SNAFU leads to a FUBAR. Then, whoever created the SNAFU is SOOL because they have to answer for both.

Snafu often used in USAF to describe mission parameters.

Fubar is outcome, based on ignoring said parameters.

Generally, when this happens, everthing goes UTA. :D

FUBAR is always much more serious than SNAFU but both can be devastating if the folks involved forgot to CYA

I have saved my share of lives and put out more fires then I can remember during my five years of rescue service. Most of the time a SNAFU is the least of your worries. Yea once a week I am the CF team leader. Most of the time we are in a CJ mode anyway.

LOL @ Ed!!!

Okay.....

WTF?

I have a good friend from HS that still says the word - are ya ready - fudge for that last part. Yes, to this day she says that word instead. We all crack up too. So corny. We all just want to say - don't you really just want to say it once? Come on now....
