How superstitious are you?

Today is Friday the 13th, a day that causes trepidation in superstitious people across the globe.

In general, how superstitious are you?

I answered not at all.

In fact if I saw a black cat on Friday the 13th, I would probably want to pet it (animal lover that I am).

And ironically I have painting to do today. With a folding ladder. LOL

Same here Mary - "Oh no! The poor kitty!"

But do me a favor: triple check that ladder before you climb up on it...

LOL - after my very last ankle sprain - EVER - I am so careful when doing anything like painting, walking the dog, yardwork, etc. I walk like an old lady these days....he he. Seriously, I painted our two story family room a few weeks ago, and I treaded up and down that ladder very, very carefully. When I began painting, I wrapped one hand around a wrung before starting in with the brush (my job was the fine line at the ceiling, oh what fun). The rest of this high up area was done by hubby, with an extended pole. He hates doing trim!

But I'll be extra careful, don't worry!

I'm kind of superstitious.

I actually bragged about never having a problem on Friday the 13th at work one time. Later that same day (it was Friday the 13th), I asked if I could leave work early because I wasn't feeling well. I went to the bank first to cash my check, and wouldn't you know I had a car accident????

The car was totaled, I had horrible whiplash (I had to wear a collar) and I twisted both ankles (the guy T-boned me).

I took the day off from work today....

I'm not superstitious either. I may joke around saying, "ooh, it's Friday the 13th - better be careful!!" or something like that, but it's all in fun. I'm really not superstitious at all.

The only time I can recall anything unusually bad happening on Friday the 13th was last year, (August) when my father died.

IMO, the date was entirely coincidental. Bad (and good things) things are no more likely to occur on any one day than any other day.

It's really quite silly to allow superstitious beliefs to control how we live our lives.
