I read somewhere that David Caruso bases his portrayal of Horatio Caine on McGarrett from the old Hawaii Five-0 series from years back. I hadn't thought much about it before I read the article but my husband and I could see the similarities in the two characters immediately. The short, clipped sentences, even the way they both assign cases, quick and to the point:

McGarrett: Kono.

Horatio: Calleigh.

Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and McGarrett (Jack Lord) even walk alike and share the same body characteristics and haircut, although Caruso's hair is red.

Here's a question about last night's episode. What about Ray's illegitimate daughter and Horatio's niece? No mention of her at all............. Otherwise the finale was great.

Well, obviously I liked Callie's look (sexy), but must respect and admire Horatio Caine for his composure. You know he adores the hot-looking Detective Salas, but puts her on the plane with his brother, knowing that he's doing the right and noble thing. Kinda like "Greater Love Hath No Man" from Tale of Two Cities.

You lurk and I'll have to hunt you down. :)

My post was directed at StormChasr who originated the new thread, not you.

They're not getting rid of Detective Salas AND Callie, hopefully. If they did, I'd stop watching. :(
