We lost a special member of our family today

#1 Postby Rainband » Mon Jun 06, 2005 7:37 pm

As most of you know Tony and I are cat lovers. Cali and Marra are the kids we will never have. This morning I came home from work and discovered Marra on the side of the bed in a coma. We had planned to take her to the Vet today. She had lost weight and was acting pretty strange. Now you must understand she had always been a little sickly since we adopted her from the SPCA some 6 years ago. She was always the one with the UT infection and the colds and such. She always recovered from whatever it was. This time she did not. We rushed her to the emergency vet and she was already almost brain dead and liver her failed. In one of the hardest decisions either Tony or I has ever had to make, We decided to let her go home across the rainbow bridge.

I know not all of you will understand this, we loved Marra like you love your children and today we lost a piece of our hearts that will will never get Back. Please say a few prayers for us in this hard time. Love your pets and enjoy your time with them. It is more precious than words can express.

Dedicated to Marra 12-1998 --- 6-2005

I am so sorry, Jonathan. I lost one of my "four felines" back on September 11, 2003--his name was Monkeyface, and I still have his brother, Snoopy (litter mates). So, I know how you feel. :(

I have 2 human children and 4 animal children...love them all! I can relate to what you are going thru....had a 16 year old cat that I had to make the decision to put to sleep....it's hard, very hard. At least Marra had your love for 6 years.

Sorry about your kitty kitty....I know that was one of the hardest things you had to do. We have had to let two of our dogs go in the past and it was like ripping our hearts out but they are better off in doggy heaven chasing all the squirrels and birds up there...look out kitty you gonna have a good time :) Heaven is a wonderful place!

My thoughts are with you Rainband!

Johnathan, you and Tony didn't want to keep your
beloved family member around, in agony, and, now,
Marra is chasing butterflies and stretching out in the
sunshine, in a wonderful place. Duckie has posted a
lovely memorial, and, it's absolutely grand. Don't feel
so sad... there's wonderful things awaiting, outside this
world, you know?
