Possible virus warning for Yahoo! Email users

#1 Postby Brent » Sat Jun 11, 2005 5:19 pm

I just recieved an email from "admin@yahoo.com" telling me that I had successfully changed my password.

Thing is... I didn't. There's an attachment that is a Zip file with it, but I'm not going to open it. It looks very suspicious to me.

If it's actually FROM Yahoo!, any mail will come highlighted with the Yahoo! logo in the E-heading in your Inbox; you were correct in not opening it. :larrow:

I can't stand viruses or spyware. Those are 2 things that really annoy me in regard to computers. Wish u could send it back and destroy the authors senders network or something in the process

Yeppers, it's a virus. Delete it immediately.

It's a virus that pretends to be an email from a legitimate source.

Thanks Brent! I have Yahoo! e-mail and I'll make sure that I delete that message ASAP. It should be in my Bulk mail folder anyway.

Thanks for the heads up!

I also have Yahoo! Mail. The message hasn't been sent to me yet, but I'll be sure to delete it if it comes to me.

Since we are our own internet email provider this spam/virus was quite funny, since I'm the Network/security Administrator. and this was sent to me
